Principal Lawyer - Mark J Ord

Mark Ord commenced practice in New Zealand in 1989 working as an insurance litigator and subsequently as a commercial litigator in Melbourne Australia.

After travelling extensively Mark relocated to Melbourne where he graduated Master of Laws at Melbourne University. In 2002, after working for a number of firms Mark set up practice in Melbourne. Mark acts in all courts and jurisdictions in Australia and handles disputes and litigation which arise both interstate and overseas.

Some of the larger matters Mark has worked on include acting as the Australian Counsel in Singaporean High Court proceedings alleging fraud against a former Managing Director of a multinational pharmaceutical company.  Advising on IPOs, IPO due diligence and verification procedures, rights issues and listing requirements.  Advising a client in the Pan Recall, the largest product recall in Australian history on the appropriate action to be taken to ensure a complete claim and then in the subsequent proceedings for damages against the Therapeutic Goods Administration. Mark has also advised and acted in high profile defamation proceedings.

More recently Mark has done extensive work for taxpayers engaged in disputes with the Australian Tax Office (ATO) and represented an ATO whistleblower in a highly publicised lawsuit against the ATO for misfeasance in public office.
